This sculpture was inspired by Venus de Milo with slight modifications to allow for the characteristics of limestone. It also has a more modest pose than the original sculpture but hoepfully it is just as enjoyable to view. As it was carved in Melbourne it is fitting that her name bears the place of  conception.
The block beside the sculpture of Venus de Melbourne is the original limestone brick and the 2 sculptures side by side show the transformation from bland brick to beauty.
