Dayspring
"Dayspring" was first inspired by the sight of swallows flying around the tunnel created by the gold miners at Warrandyte. The work was built for the 2002 Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show which was held around Easter time. Since I wanted to convey the vigor of the European tradition of springtime Easter with the Australian image of a river and birds I called the work "Dayspring" to echo the Easter imagery.
