This work was built for the 2003 Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show. It comprises a fabricated copper body on a brass base with brass sounding tines. The tuning is basically pentatonic but the work was built for appearance and the sound is slightly "soggy". The rear panel has a cast glass insert. The lyre is an exploration of the relationship between visual harmony and sound. The piece stands about one meter tall.
