Partridge in a Pear Tree
Judge's comments from the 2002 MIF&GS exhibition: -
This innovatively conceived piece uses minimal means in an extremely effective way to convey the essential formal, spatial and textural qualities of the universal landscape element 'tree'. The work draws the viewer in through its use of spatial complexity, scale manipulation, and through its highly sophisticated but restrained use of copper, brass and glass. The copper leaves with their green patination reflect the light from different angles, creating a dappled effect of light and shade.
