Van Phu Le bio
Van Phu Le is a Vietnamese–Australian sculptor based in Melbourne and has been a member of the Association of Sculptors of Victoria (ASV) since 2002.
Inspired by the experiences of Vietnamese refugees, his sculptures transform historical narratives into symbolic forms that express sacrifice, hope, dignity, and rebirth.
His artistic practice combines mythology, cultural identity, and contemporary public art to create works that honour both personal and collective human journeys.
He is available for commissioned art projects and has completed works for St Martin de Porres Parish Primary School, including logo design projects, as well as the 50th anniversary commemorative project marking the arrival and resettlement of Vietnamese refugees in Australia, located in Richmond, with a total project budget of up to AUD 350,000, sponsored by Yarra City Council.
