I have been creating art for over 30 years, with photography being an early focus. For many years I shot and printed black and white infrared prints, exhibiting in solo and group exhibitions. More recently I’ve returned to ceramics and have been forming sculptural pieces mostly using slab construction. A solo exhibition of my series Curves and Crisp Edges was held at Murray Art Museum Albury during 2019.
I am currently completing my Bachelor of Fine Arts at Curtin University, studying online through Open Universities Australia. Studying is motivating me to broaden the spectrum of my creative output, with a recent series inspired by some of Australia’s well-known rock formations such as Uluru and the Pinnacles. Currently, I am working on a collection that uses where I live as a source of inspiration. Referencing materials and structures common to rural landscapes, wire and corrugated iron, I am creating a series of small sculptures from clay. Home brings me a sense of tranquillity, a connection with the seasons and the elements. I aim to incorporate this mood into my current work.
