Tracy Andrews has dedicated 15 years of her life to working with glass, setting up her own unique workspace dubbed the ‘Shedio’ in Kangaroo Ground's breathtaking Yarra Valley.
As a nature enthusiast, she finds inspiration in the intricate patterns that exist within the natural world, with a particular fondness for gardening and the ocean
Andrews utilizes two glass working techniques - lampworking and glass fusing - to create her art, manipulating molten glass with a torch and combining glass sheet, frit and powder in a glass kiln, respectively.
Her vast collection of work encompasses a wide variety of pieces, from vibrant glass lilies to wearable art featuring picturesque beach scenes. She also creates stunning glass bowls inspired by the vibrant hues of swirling sunsets and intricate vessels that aim to highlight the fragility of coral reefs.
Tracy Andrews has earned multiple accolades for her work, winning the prestigious Festival of Glass Sculptural Art Awards’ 1st prize in 2016 for her intricate lampworked sculpture, ‘Sea Urchin.’ More recently, in 2019, her piece "Seagulls" received the esteemed Bellawein Glass Art Award.
