Artist’s Statement: This work is part of a series exploring the topic of immigration and the feelings attached to a new, unknown country. After struggling to recognise a foreign environment and identity, this piece represents the moment I was reborn in this crying baby figure. As Australia continue to grow as a largely migrant nation, I reflect back to this moment and the trajectory lived since then.
