   Sculpture Description

Meet Hector – an old, Andean bear who suffers from dementia. Hector is based on a tender tale, by Stu Gallgher. Hector lives in the Colombian jungle – a jungle he knew intimately well before the onset of his condition. Accompanying him are three familiar bear cubs, of which he struggles to place who they are, but who are aware of their father’s condition. The cubs learn to adapt to Hector's illness and help him live a life of dignity. Sculpted out of plasticine, Hector will be photographed and incorporated into a story book.
