   Sculpture Description

Hello, my name is Sharon Hansen and I’m a metal sculptor based in Tallarook around 100 klms north of Melbourne. When my boys grew up and forged a life of their own, my husband feared for his sanity and encouraged me to find a hobby, so I reengaged with my inner artist that lay dormant since school. The inspiration for my sculptures comes from nature around me on my farm and nature around Victoria, with emus in the north and many kangaroos feasting in the wildlife reserves on our farm. I sculpt using scrap metal, predominantly from old farm equipment destined to see its days out abandoned in the paddock. My sculptures can be exhibited as they once lived, clean and shiny or as their parts were found, in all their rusty glory, you choose.
