Working with Bronze Mesh is a lot more challenging than you might imagine! If you cut it, tiny sharp fronds splinter everywhere; if you meddle with it too much trying to shape it, it will look like a hippo slept on it! As with so many things in life it requires a fine balance to nurture and shape it to form a meaningful entity ... In this case I wish to pay tribute to Dutch graphic artist MC Escher, whose geometric feats were sublime and various; if I add the ‘Fibonacci Sequence’ to highlight the extraordinary mathematical patterns that nature reflects (so often between human anatomy and plant formation) then let this ‘discombobulated’ work prick your very conscience to re-evaluate the very alarming and increasing imbalance of our most precious elemental DNA and aesthetic of life itself. Why is man so hell-bent on self destruction? We MUST rally to ‘re-empower’ the very essence of our (once) natural existence!
