Resilience (Ode to Yvonne) is inspired by the human mind and the effects of ageing, particularly the journey of those living with dementia. The mind-map is an unfathomable maze, which twists in a web and relies on almost invisible connections that are less easy to unscramble as we age. Life affirmations such as “Two Arms Two Legs Get on With It” are powerful allies, but wouldn’t it be brilliant if we each had a surf-life-saver on hand to navigate us and our loved ones out of the fog into clear waters.
