The turtle is a very special animal in my culture. With this sculpture I wanted to translate my 'Turtle' imagery into a 3D object. The turtle move across the land and see many changes to the land. I decide to put multiple stories on the shell of the turtle to reflect its long life and wisdom. The most important story is my 'Celebration of Life' which reflects the many interactions in life and the importance to appreciate the great experiences shared with others. The choice to use metal is a reflection on the strength and longevity of the Australian Indigenous culture and the stories passed down over the centuries.
