Sonia Payes - Two Women 2021 Working with different media, all stemming from my photography ? animated film, 3D imagery and sculpture enables me to further interpret the concerns underpinning my art: those of perpetual change, the reciprocity between all living beings, nature?s regenerative cycles, and a faith in humanity?s ability to adapt to environmental upheaval. A sense of alchemy ? an air of enigmatic mystery and transformative power ? has always been an element of my art practice. Two Women 2021 illustrates the provenance of my sculptures in which innumerable photographs of my muse, are morphed together. As the viewer moves around Two Women 2021 sculptures, they blend one into the other to conjure the illusion of fluid motion and the regenerative power of nature.
