The bronze sculpture originated as discarded bark from a yellow box gum found on my property , a complex process by immersing the bark sections into liquid clay forming a shell around the bark which is then burned away to form a cavity for molten bronze to be poured into This work invites reflection on presence and loss, the negative space becomes as conceptually significant as the now existing positive form.
