The ‘Cloud of Joy’ was made to reverse its role as hard weighted material and transform into one of float-like weightlessness. The artwork becomes a functional seat and resting place, as it settles and relaxes into the landscape. Its form can remind one of a cloud or pillow.
Each tesserae is meticulously hand cut and placed. The artist has used Rujo Alicante marble selected for its colour orange representing the colour of joy.
