Herring Island is an inspiring place to come where we show off all our hard work and enjoy the visitors and the beautiful island. for a few years I have managed to lassoo a visitor and enjoy modelling their head in the clay I have brought along. I modelled Kelly at the last island festival, and this year hope to find another willing person. I take a few photos to help me finish the bust later in my studio. Then I make a plaster mould in four sections to create a clay casting of even thickness for successful firing when dry. The human form always inspires me.
