Artist’s Statement: The variegated green and rustic oranges of the Pilbara Jade inspired me to carve the overhanging arrangement of leaves. Within the arrangement of leaves I have created sections of undercutting to define variations on light and shade, with the smooth shiny sections suggesting the waxy tactile qualities of the leaves.
