Alison Parkinson. Sudanese Woman 2022. A Beautiful Sudanese Woman sat for this portrait. My process is to draw the subject from four directions, finding profile lines and detail. Then I created her likeness in the velvety beautiful high fired unglazed black Irish Clay. The floating of the work was supported by creating with D.CAM’s Engineering. I delight in discovering likeness and the feel of the clay under fingers. Forming works with interior emotions.
