Untitled #1

First time collaborators, Jody Galvin (wire sculptor) and Brett Davies (wood sculptor) have teamed up to create Untitled #1, using materials of wood and wire. Untitled #1 is our reflection on how fragile the natural world can be at a time when our hometown community has experienced a tough summer of extreme heat and fires but shown resilience and strength to bounce back and begin to re-grow.

Judge's Comments MIFGS 2026

This collaborative work brings together wood and wire in a way that feels both delicate and powerful. Reflecting on fragility, fire, resilience and regrowth, it speaks to the vulnerability of the natural world while also expressing hope and renewal. The combination of two practices has produced a work of strong emotional resonance, and the overall composition feels considered, expressive and quietly moving.
