Our connected world makes communication so fast and easy – but is it also confusing? How often have we wondered at the ambiguity of “LOL” - should we “Laugh out Loud” or be touched to receive “Lots of Love”? Clark uses these texting-based acronyms that spill profusely from mobile phones to remind us of the fragility of the basis of all meaning – language. And like the reproduction of the out-dated mobile phone in the art work, how readily it is superseded and replaced in this high-consumer driven vacuous economy.
