I create visually interesting, diverse and wonderous pieces that celebrate the fusion of beautiful natural elements alongside re-purposed man-made objects. Creating a sense of balance and harmony is central to my practice and each sculpture is unique in construction. I will often incorporate the use of suspension to enable gentle motion to occur in one or more components. The various elements of each piece are then bound or held together with simple materials such as string, cord, natural fibres, pearl cotton and wool. On some level my sculptures are an expression of what it is that binds us all together on this journey. With this piece I explore the notion do we 'Sail into Infinity' when we pass on from this Earthly realm? And what would that ship look like?
