The female form is a constant in my work. In every medium I inevitably return to exploring life-giving female form. In an age where women continue to elicit control and challenge it is important to celebrate the female. My work explores this by juxtaposing sweeping lines of the female body with intricate pattern. In this work this has been achieved by applying a millefiori cane-making technique in polymer clay to produce a complex veneer on a plaster reproduction of my own original ceramic sculpture. The extraordinary versatility of polymer clay, an unsung medium, enables me to sculpt in colour.
