Alison Parkinson Artist. ‘Survivante” Cast Bronze with a Steel podium. The Artists Proof. Survivante—Survivor. The title alluding to the journey of the bust. Cast from a kiln fired terracotta bust that exploded in the kiln. I repaired The terracotta bust and then it was cast at Meridian Foundry Fitzroy. I worked with Peter Morley {died March 2023] the past owner of Meridian Foundry, in doing the patination. The aim to create a Rembrandt like feel of a torch light glancing on the surface. Peter trained in London and had been personally involved in the casting of works by Henry Moore, Barbara Hepworth, Elizabeth Frink and Lyn Chadwick. In Australia artists such as George Baldessin, Arthur Boyd, Brett Whitely, Louise Parador along with many others. Meridian Foundry and DCAM for the steel podium thank you.
