The inspiration for my sculpture, came from a photo of my pregnant daughter sharing some "precious moments” with with her toddler prior to the birth of her second child.To me it is a beautiful sight, a new life beginning, a second seed ripening. As I was making the work I felt very emotional as I sculpted the toddler and mother, their hands clasped, not tight, but in a nurturing way, the way it should be, without fear or prejudice or judgement. (As an afternote, my heart breaks for those who have had their children stolen, been unable to have this bond or lost children in the current war.)
