There is an intimacy in sculpting plants from paper and wire. I am drawn to the other beings that share my landscape, and find great joy in learning their names and their place in the tapestry of life. Sculpting becomes a way to meet them in a middle place: they offer the small, intricate gestures of their being, and I respond by tracing their shapes with attentive hands - a small expression of my gratitude for our meeting.
