Forebears' investigates the use of multiples in the public realm by establishing tension between the natural world and the artificial. The 8 bronze units emulate a series of Wollemi Pine/Wollemia Nobilis cuttings disconnected from their original environment. The work makes reference to the duality of the species by being both a living fossil and a commercialised domestic product. 'Forebears' creates a narrative where the complexities of globalisation, consumption, manipulation, preservation and migration co-exist.
