I was inspired by the NGV exhibition featuring works on the Apocalypse. However I choose to see the four horsemen not as four amigos riding in vengeance over the landscape but rather expressing a cycle of linked events: Conquest with a bow rides out to invade; which engenders Conflict and the sword. This leads to Famine and Inequity as food and riches are apportioned by economics and politics. Finally Death and Decay take a toll and the whole cycle repeats as a reaction.
