This piece was inspired by the famous sculpture called “THE THINKER” by Auguste Rodin. The original thinker was initially a figure in a large commission for a doorway surround called The gates of Hell located in France and has been the subject of many artistic commentaries. | I decided to give The Thinker a partner for this work but she had to have a pose that reflected The Thinker in body composition and intensity. Whatever caused The Thinker’s to take up this posture has been supported by Mrs Thinker in the sculpture with a similar attitude with the same degree of concentration.
