   Sculpture Description

Artist’s Statement: Starting with prefabricated pieces I employ actions of throwing, dropping and breaking in the rejection of traditional forms of construction. Tacking the pieces where they land, throwing the work with my physical strength, breaking it and changing direction of the form. The visual language is formed in the realm of the unknown, the unconscious, resulting in a structure that is not affected by the artist’s
bias, a work formed in the unfamiliar ground of serendipity, with the notion that art can transcend if given the space to do so. The work is a response to our systems in chaos and the crumbling of our traditional beliefs and values.
