Judge's comments: "“Runcible spoon” is a ‘nonsense’ sourced from Edward Lear’s best known poem, “The Owl and the Pussycat” where “They dined on mince and slices of quince, which they ate with a runcible spoon”. Beyond this, the artist has managed to create a seamlessly carved piece of wood, forming a gentle, even humble object, enshrined in a glass dome, preserved yet dancing to the light of the moon."
