Artist’s Statement: Time as liquid. Draining away. Against our will. In Time Catcher Stuart reforges a fraught temporality, while asking why the incrementally measured time conceived in Western tradition stands opposed to the ever pressing dictates of our will. In doing so, the cogs and dials that underlie the human condition are invested with an urgent materiality. Bound by a calculating clockwork conception of
the nature of time, an all too human struggle sees us rising up to reach beyond ourselves.
