Architecturally inspired shapes. Country/Urban/Industrial From two discarded 2.4m x 1.2m sheets of steel (from which component shapes for industry had been cut), I could see potential architecturally inspired shapes in the left over steel. I cut, and rearranged the steel into these three objects/sculptures. If I presented just one of the ‘sculptures’ made from the off-cuts, then that ‘sculpture’ would lose its context…..where it came from, why it exists. Presented together as one sculpture, best reflects the sculptural intent/concept. Once they are seen together, their place as future possible individual sculptures can then be better understood. The shapes - Brutal minimalist building (Industrial, or a bit like Parliament House, Canberra). - Modern urban high rise building. - ‘Rivergum’ House on sloping block, with tree.
